Weekly Obsession: Bally's First Luxury Eyewear Collection

Bally's very first luxury eyewear collection features elegant frames for both men and women

Normally, the launch of a new eyewear collection wouldn't warrant this much attention from us, but we do have our reasons for highlighting Swiss fashion brand Bally's new luxury Eyewear Collection for men and women; the launch of the series of sunglasses and optical models is the brand's very first, making it approximately a couple of hundred fashion seasons behind everyone else's. Strange, considering the brand's roots in a country filled with blindingly-white snow-capped mountains. But better late than never we say, and Bally does make the wait worth our while.

Designed in collaboration with renowned international eyewear group TWC L'AMY (who's worked with the likes of Balmain, Kenzo and Sonia Rykiel), the new range will feature creations for all occasions (Luxury, Office, Sport & Casual), sporting all of Bally's iconic elements -- including its red and white Trainspotting stripe, Mountain Goat motif, Bally Crest and Block-B -- in the most subtle and elegant of ways.

Bally's very first luxury eyewear collection for men and women will feature all of Bally's iconic elements including its red and white Trainspotting stripe.

Highlights in the collection include a classic aviator model featuring a bridge nosepiece and temples lined in leather for the men, as well as a sophisticated key oval acetate frame enhanced by intertwined leather and metal rings for the ladies. Other models run the gamut from rectangular frames and cat-eye styles to classic tortoiseshell, made from titanium or leather.

The new eyewear collection will launch in Singapore in December, just in time for you to drop a hint or two for a Christmas present. After all, who knows when the next collection would be?

Bally’s luxury Eyewear Collection will be available in Singapore in selected Bally stores from December 2012 and in dedicated optical retailers from January 2013.

Check out these lovely shades from Jimmy Choo, Michael Kors and Oroton too.
