The brilliantly-coloured art piece whimsically named The Colour of Love by local artist and former PR consultant Adeline Yeo is a perfect encapsulation of the artist's love for the bold and beautiful, and a celebration of passion and purpose. "The colour of love is beautiful, like stars above, twinkling, glittering, sparkling and living. And like candy -- sweet, pungent, happy," explains Yeo of the riotous swirls and dots of colours, painted using only her fingers.

There are no deep hidden meanings or pretentious presentations of imagery and symbology -- just simple interpretation of the theme "love". It's everything that makes art fun, accessible and relatable, and such is the underlying tone of The Colour of Love, as well as the 14 other art works that are part of her first public exhibition 'Beautiful Love', following two solo exhibitions in 2010 and 2011.

The brilliantly-coloured art piece whimsically named The Colour of Love is a perfect encapsulation of Adeline Yeo's love for the bold and beautiful, and a celebration of passion and purpose.

Despite being relatively new to the scene, Yeo's already been picked as one of Singapore's most exciting artists to watch, noticed for her whimsical yet bold interpretations of phoenixes, trees and flowers.

“Art doesn’t always have to be dark and sombre,” says Yeo of her signature style. “I simply believe that the power to change the world through art is a beautiful thing, and this collection is really a celebration of life, growth and resurrection through my use of colours and nature.”

'Beautiful Love 2012: A Love Story by Adeline Yeo' is presented by The Fullerton Hotel as part of its Arts in the City programme, and features a collection of 15 finger-painted art works to celebrate the month of love.

But more than just an art exhibition, 50 percent from the sales proceeds of all 15 pieces and 100 percent from the auction piece “Bedtime Stories” will also be donated to The Duke-NUS Pediatric Research Fund, a non-endowed research fund administered by Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore. The opening bid for “Bedtime Stories” starts from S$10,000 and the silent auction ends on 29 February 2012.

Beautiful Love 2012: A Love Story by Adeline Yeo runs from 9 - 29 February at the East Garden Foyer of The Fullerton Hotel. For more information, please visit artbyadelineyeo.wordpress.com/about/
