Singapore Marriott Hotel Unveils New Look

Following 35 million dollar and six months of refurbishment
Best known for its iconic green pagoda roof at Orchard Road, Singapore Marriott Hotel has completed a six-month refurbishment project to bring a new level of luxury to guests.

One of the most renowned hotels located on the Orchard Road belt -- Singapore Marriott Hotel, has officially relaunched, following a SGD$35 million refurbishment, which includes an overhaul of newly installed bathrooms, ergonomically optimized furniture and two new room categories -- premier deluxe rooms and studio rooms.

As you enter the lobby of Singapore Marriott Hotel, you'd also notice changes, including a brand-new Marriott Cafe as well as a brand new F&B concept -- Java+.

Java+, the latest F&B concept by Singapore Marriott Hotel, will feature fine wines and exquisite Spanish tapas.

The six-month refurbishment has been Singapore Marriott Hotel's most extensive project of its kind since it opened 17 years ago. The renovation, undertaken by design team, Hirsh Bedner Associates (HBA), focuses on a classic yet contemporaty theme, using neutral colours and bold accent fabrics.

Rooms have now been fitted with two signature 1956 leather Eames desk chairs, walk-in rain showers as well as extended vanity areas and technology upgrades, such as a 46-inch Samsung full-HD Smart TV in every room.

As for Marriott Cafe, it now has one of Singapore's largest open kitchen blocks, with 10 chefs serving up a East meets West buffet menu. Crossroads Cafe has also taken on new colour palate with well stocked wine fridge and ambient lighting to create a relaxed atmosphere.

Java+, the hotel's latest premium retail deli outlet, sells imported products from around the world, including high quality cured meats, cheese and fine wine. Guests will also be able to enjoy authentic Spanish tapas, or take away a wide range of cakes, pastries, sandwiches and coffees.

Hirsh Bedner Associates (HBA), the leading design team behind Singapore Marriott Hotel's refurbishment, focuses on creating a contemporary look with neutral colours and fabrics.

“The needs and wants of today’s mobile businessmen and women have been central to our decision making process.  We set about creating sophisticated and spacious rooms, paying close attention to the details that a modern-day traveller would appreciate.  For example, in our refurbished Junior Suites, tech-savvy travellers can enjoy 55-inch LCD high-definition televisions and digital plug-in panels, in addition to completely separate living spaces for entertaining and relaxation," commented Mr Anthony Page, general manager of Singapore Marriott Hotel.

In celebration of the hotel’s renovation, Singapore Marriott Hotel has launched a series of packages for travellers:

  • Love is in the Air (SGD$795++): One-night accommodation in the new premier deluxe room, with breakfast at Marriott Cafe, a bottle of Champagne upon arrival and a romantic four-course dinner with wine pairing at the hotel’s poolside restaurant Pool Grill.
