In its latest collection, dubbed “Devastating Beauty”, the Shanghai Tang has chosen to render beauty from destruction; creating vivid meaningful prints that were inspired by both the urban signs of rapid modernization and the forces of nature and culture that have withstood development.
In this outfit, the dense network of highways have been translated into beautiful prints of ‘Endless Knots.
A creative use of pixels are also seen on the silk “Pixel” print qipao that is inspired by low resolution satellite views of vibrant city crowds from above.
