Drawing your eyebrows may not be as time-consuming as applying makeup but it's one step that we sure can do without early in the morning. Thankfully for us less-coordinated folks, there is a semi-permanent way to have the desired eyebrows that you want without having to brandish an eyebrow pencil about.
What: Allure's Beauty Saloon presents Angelic Brows, a new evolution of eyebrow embroidery which uses soft and light strokes that look natural looking and is long-lasting.
Where: There are currently two Allure Beauty Saloon at Tiong Bahru Plaza, #05-04A and City Vibe, #02-04A. There will be a new outlet opening on 1 November 2011 at West Mall, #04-10.
The process: The entire procedure began with a professional assessment and a warm welcome by the staff of Allure with some snacks and drinks. After the initial assessment (women with scarring or excessively oily skin and large pores are not recommended to undergo the treatment), a numbing cream was then applied on our brows to ease any discomfort during the embroidery process.
Once the cream has set in, an Allure Brow expert sketched out the perfect eyebrow shape for us -- remember to tell the brow expert if you are unhappy with what she has shaped out for you (semi-permanent, remember?).
Once the eyebrow shape was drawn to our satisfaction, the eyebrow embroidery process began with the application of a lotion to firm up the shape, thus solidifying the design so that the outline and design remains the same as drawn.
The embroidery process itself was surprisingly painless -- we only felt the lightest of brush-like strokes, and there was absolutely no bleeding or swelling post-process. After a thorough check, the entire treatment ended with the brow expert giving us a tube of antiseptic cream and after-care tips. Thanks to the lack of redness, we were back into the office in no time at all without anyone knowing what we've done.
Damage: Eyebrow embriodery only for the older folks who inevitably end up with faded, blue-ish tattooed eyebrows? Not quite. Eyebrow embriodery has a much more natural effect, and in particular Angelic Brows lasts a lot longer than other embrioderies. However, the process does not come cheap: Angelic Brows is priced at S$2,500 per session and comes with unlimited touchups within a year and an aftercare lotion.
Result: Truth be told, we're still a little disconcerted by how freakishly perfect our brows look -- yes there's such a thing as too perfect. However, we do enjoy not having to draw our eyebrows every morning. Remember to follow the after care tips to ensure that the embriodery lasts.
