12 Ann Siang is the latest multi-concept venue you need to visit

There’s no way around it — Ann Siang is one of Singapore’s hippest neighbourhoods. Cocktail bars, lush vibes and top-tier restaurants populate the area, including one well-loved haunt, The Screening Room and its accompanying rooftop bar.

The building’s façade has been re-done in white and terracotta.

Now, the home to the boutique cinema is transformed into a full-fledged multi-concept food and beverage destination, known as 12 Ann Siang.

Five concepts dot the heritage building’s five floors, of which two concepts are entirely new. Catchfly is the latest speakeasy to hit the saturated street, run by New York mixologist, Liam Baer. Situated in the basement, Catchfly is an intimate bar with industrial decor that boasts Baer’s herb and spice-centred reinventions of classic cocktails.

The Harissa Chicken Burger with picked onions and toasted brioche at the Coriander Leaf Grill.

Also new is Coriander Leaf Grill, a name familiar if you’ve ever been to the flagship Coriander Leaf at Chijmes. Asian-inspired grilled dishes and hearty burgers form the soul of the menu. Get yourself a seat on the outdoor terrace if you’re dining in the evening to enjoy a view of the buzzy streets. The Coriander Leaf Studio has also opened on the second floor. This private event space is great for corporate get-togethers or parties, and is able to house up to 60 guests.

The Screening Room still remains a fixture, except now with an improved screening schedule that encompasses film noir and art house movies. After a viewing at the cosy cinema, head up to the rooftop bar and enjoy a cranked up menu with fresh cocktails, new labels of gin and whisky, as well as finger food.
