The all-new Ford Mustang arrives in Hong Kong

The Ford Mustang has arrived in Hong Kong. With its sleek design, this all-new Mustang is a modern and muscular interpretation of the classic that was first launched in 1964. Its heart-pounding performance comes from improved aerodynamics, fuel efficiency and steering control, but it retains the iconic design elements of a long sculpted hood and short rear deck.

Under the sleek exterior lies a turbocharged engine that guarantees a powerful but smooth ride.

Drivers can choose from two exhilarating engines. With an upgraded valve train and cylinder heads, the classic 5.0 litre V8 (HK$599,000 without insurance) produces 416PS of power and 530Nm of torque, making the Mustang more powerful than ever. Its low-speed breathing also ensures better fuel economy, idle stability and gas emissions.

More eco-conscious drivers can opt for the 2.3 litre EcoBoost engine (HK$720,000 without insurance). It pumps out 317PS of power and 432Nm of torque, and state-of-the-art technology gives it variable cam timing, direct injection and turbo charging for the ultimate performance and fuel efficiency.

Other features include a six speed SelectShift automatic transmission that punches in the thrill of a manual transmission while delivering the ease of an automatic. The aviation-inspired cockpit gives the driver a roomy cabin space, with ergonomically designed tactile switches and knobs for precise control. Safety features are also top of the market, boasting emergency Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), an eight airbag configuration, and a SOS post-crash alert system.

The pony car showcases the latest in safe and smart technologies.

“Mustang is truly the heart and soul of Ford,” said David Westerman, managing director of Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company. “[It] takes its no-compromise, raw power and performance to a whole new level.”

With ten high-performance colours to choose from, including Race Red, Ingot Silver Metallic and Triple Yellow Tri-Coat, that’s about the only decision left to be made.
